Dirty Projectors & Björk – On and Ever Onwards

On and Ever Onward by grantith

This is a fun quirky acapella track of Björk teaming up with the Dirty Projectors. Absolutely love this short gem — catchy chorus. High Five!

Joy Ike – Give Me Truth

I have a soft spot for talented female vocalists who sing over piano. Joy Ike has hit that spot. She reminds me of a mix of Sara Bereilles and Corinne Bailey Ray. Her songs are soothing to the ears and lyrically poetic. I particularly loved her track “Give Me Truth”:

Support her music and buy her great album!

Robot Science – September/The Notion of Backwards Motion

I’m always on the lookout for independent musicians. I love to hear what musicians come up with for the love of music — because obviously at this point there is hardly (if at all) any money to be made. I get even more excited when I find artists from the Bay Area!

I just discovered Robot Science today. His sound reminds me of an instrumental version of Postal Service. He makes heavy use of the square soundwave to make synth melodies. He is an EDM musician that is light and relaxing to the ear…definately not club stuff. Anyways I love his stuff, especially his song “September”

Support his music.

(His email published on his site also leads me to believe he is a UC Berkeley student. If so, go bears! If not… go bears!)

More summer music for you to play loud with your window rolled all the way down. High Five!

(Also listen to Real Love in the set, another amazing song.)
