Gabe Bondoc

[Edit: I, embaressingly, mispelled Gabe Bondoc (I spelled it Bunduc) ... thanks for pointing it out gilby.]

If you browse around youtube a lot, it’s more than likely you are familiar with this weeks artist of the week: Gabe Bondoc. A lot of his fame was due in part to his “One Take Sessions” in which he does one take to record covers of popular songs — and, sometimes, original songs written by him.

What does Gabe Bondoc sound like?
Jazzy-bluesy acoustic arrangements over smooth and rhythmic vocals.

Why I high five Gabe Bondoc.
Anyone can do a cover of a song, but the covers that Gabe Bondoc puts out have simply brilliant acoustic arrangements. One of my favorite covers he put out was “Chasing Pavements” from Adele. Fortunately Gabe didn’t stick to just doing covers, he constantly makes witty songs — just check out his twitter and youtube song. By far my favorite original song from him is Stronger Than. It is a great feel and mood to the song and a very catchy guitar strum.

Klaxons – No Diggity (Cover)

I remember loving the original blackstreet song. This is a really nice non-offensive cover of this great track. High Five!

Lewis & Clarke – Disintegration

A superb cover to The Cure’s original. The simplistic piano and vocals give it such a deep emotion. High Five!

William Fitzsimmons – Heartless (Cover)

Super awesome cover of Kanye West’s Heartless. Has so much more depth of emotion than the original. High Five!
